The Next Big Thing: Madison J Edwards!

Today's post is from Madison J Edwards and we must warn you it does contain adult material. So if you're a young reader or opposed to naughty, please see yesterday's WIP post.  :D

Madison is a bestselling author known for her naughty sense of humor, which parlays itself into the lives of her characters. Most days she can be found camped in front of her computer sipping a non-fat, no foam latte spinning her trademark romances filled with strong alpha males and kick-ass heroines. When she’s not busy writing, or thinking about writing, or taking another class about writing she loves to spend time with family and friends, amazing them with her recall of completely trivial, nonsensical fact. Hi Maddie and welcome! Today we're taking a look at your WIP so without delay...

1. What is the working title of your next book?
Bound and Determined

2. Where did the idea come from for your book?
It is the fourth book in my Perfect Secretary Series - Seth's story

3. What genre does your book fall under?
Erotic / light bdsm / romance

4. What is your synopsis or blurb for this book?
Ummm.... we're suppposed to have a synopsis??? (kidding - it's in my head - I'll have to think about that). This is an uber rough draft, because I haven't given this any thought.
Eight years ago Ava Braxton, kidnapped and slated to be sold into the sex slave trade, is brutalized in a most horrific way by the men who hold her captive. Her father, Senator Braxton, deploys a highly trained seal team to locate and evac her. Seth Black, our congenial Dom from The Perfect Secretary series, is on the team and the one to bring her out.
Slide to present day and we find that Ava is working at the BDSM club where Seth is one of the Dungeon Masters. She's never forgotten the silent strength of her rescuer, and he's never forgotten the horror he saved her from. After her rescue, Ava enlisted a trainer who taught her how to fight, detach from pain and survive. As she and Seth begin to grow closer, she has trouble relinquishing control and finds she can't trust any man. Problematic as Seth is a Dominant, but he realizes he needs to let Ava know she is safe with him and thank goodness he's a patient man.

5. What actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Seth would be played by actor Jay Tavare (handsome native indian) - totally droolworthy.
I have no female actor in mind for Ava, but I have found a wonderful female model on Dreamstime who looks exactly as I envisioned her.

6. Will your book be self-published, or represented by an agency?
It will go through my publisher, Turquoise Morning Press, as by contract they have first rights to continuing characters.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Ummm..... It's not done.... I pitched it as a short story, but Kim, after reading the submission said it needs to be full length and go to print - so I have a LOT of filling to do......

8. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The bones of this story - which is the survival of a girl as a sex slave - has festered in my mind for over two years. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it needed to be Seth's story.
He has the quiet strength to lead the heroine to completion and I can't wait to tell this story. It will be a tear jerker, for sure.

9. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Cherise Sinclair wrote a book about a woman who had been abused and her dominant helped her trust again. I can't remember the title, but it resonated within because of the story I had been thinking of.
When I read her story, I realized you could put a book like this out to the public, and they will accept it, if it is done right. Something I hope to do.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I have been researching Native American tribes for authentic tidbits to sprinkle within the story as Seth is a full-blood Cherokee (the wolf tribe).
Awesome stuff and what he learns from his grandfather will help Ava and his love for her.

11. Who are the three people you'll host on your blog in this Next Big Thing blog hop?
Anybody - Maddie's Place has 'no holds barred'
Bring it on, Sistah!

Thanks so much for stopping by Maddie! Love the creative title!
