The beautiful and talented Charissa Weaks contacted me not long ago to ask me my greatest obstacle in writing. I didn't have to ponder on that one. I wrote my few paragraphs and shot it off to her. And I'm amazed. I admit tears welled as I read what others went through and as it resonated with me, I began to see yet another reason meeting our goals mean so much to us.
I feel an overwhelming sense of pride at being included with these women and sharing some of the same hurdles. It just goes to prove, we might be in separate boats, but we're all navigating the same big stream.
This is why I'm a huge advocate for writerly encouragement. We've all been there. We all remember that day we got the flu, another rejection and a burst pipe under the sink. Unexpectedly, some angelic soul reached out to us, offering a kind word. Cloud part, light shines and we hail them forever.
This is what it means to be a writer and I'm extremely proud to be a part of such a wonderful group. A WHOPPING dose of gratitude goes to all fourteen of the beauties in this post and A GINORMOUS amount of thanks and hugs to all my supporters and fellow cartwheelers. Without you, I wouldn't be following my dreams.
Please take a minute to read Charissa's blog post and meet these fabulous women. You'll gain a deeper sense of involvement and confidence and you'll definitely feel their support and encouragement.
Agree, Valerie! It's a beautiful post and an honor to be listed with such stalwart ladies! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo very well said. Honestly, I am so glad to be a writer. I have never encountered support from other people like I have in this community. :) Hugs all around!

I cried too when I read the other ladies' obstacles. Then I had to giggle a little bit because I was jut so darn happy to know that I am not alone!!!
